Charles Barth is a prolific painter and printmaker whose work has been included in more that 600 exhibitions since 1966: one man shows, group shows, invitational exhibits and juried exhibits on regional, national and international levels. He has received 90 art awards since 1969, which included Best in Show, purchase awards and honorable mentions. His intaglio prints are represented in numerous collections including the Art Institute of Chicago, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Des Moines Art Center and Na Bolom in San Cristobal, Chiapas, Mexico.  Charles taught in the Art Department of Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa for 30 years. He and his wife purchased a home in Oaxaca, Mexico in 1997and he spends much of his time in his studio. Mexico, especially Oaxaca, provides substance for his artwork.
